Meet Woody, our Master Craftsman

Steven Wood, known to most as Woody, is the master craftsman behind every polished concrete piece we produce. With nearly a decade of hands-on experience in crafting bespoke worktops, floors, and finishes, Woody brings a rare blend of skill, intuition, and grit to each project.

A former professional rugby player, Woody’s work ethic and precision were first shaped on the pitch before he turned his attention to stone masonry. From there, it was a natural progression into construction, where he quickly found his niche in the world of polished concrete. Over the years, he’s trained with some of the best in the business — and some of the worst — because, as he’ll tell you, knowing how not to do something is just as important as knowing how to do it right.

Woody’s dedication to the craft continues to evolve. He holds an NVQ in Polished Concrete Finishing and is a certified installer of Forcrete’s luxury microcement systems, ensuring every surface he delivers is both technically sound and beautifully finished.

At Woody’s, his hands-on approach and high standards set the tone for everything we do. Whether it’s a kitchen island or a large-scale flooring installation, you can be sure Woody’s eye is on every detail.

And Izzy, behind the scenes

Izzy oversees the day-to-day running of Woody’s from our South Oxfordshire workshop, ensuring every project runs smoothly from first enquiry to final handover. With an exceptional eye for detail and a calm, measured approach, she brings both structure and soul to the business.

With a degree in History and a special focus on Architecture, Izzy’s appreciation for design runs deep. She’s currently expanding that foundation through her studies at the British Academy of Interior Design, further refining her ability to shape spaces that are as practical as they are beautiful.

Izzy also brings a wealth of hands-on industry experience. She has successfully project managed a wide range of residential and commercial fit-outs, giving her a broad understanding of both the construction process and the unique requirements of polished concrete installations.

Her background gives her the rare ability to bridge the gap between design intent and on-site delivery — translating creative visions into well-executed outcomes. As the primary point of contact for many of our clients, Izzy ensures every interaction is clear, thoughtful, and rooted in a deep understanding of the craft.
